Getting my ship together

Thumbnails for a redesign of the Schooner Aurora official dual-purpose uniform-and-souvenir t-shirt! Haha, the next thing WAS boats! Market research: Which one would you wear?

And another card. It's totally true.

This took too long.

Maybe the next one will be about boats?

Baby, Let's Pick Out China Patterns!

So it's been a while since I could get into the lab for a work session. I just started a new job last week with a 2-hour commute on either side of my shifts, and the work itself is physically taxing, which means that on my days off I'm usually super tired. I'll get used to the new schedule, I'm sure- I pretty much have to, or a piece could take a whole month to finish instead of a week or so.
Anyway, I'm almost finished. The last thing to do is tighten up the china patterns and paint them in all fancy. And maybe fix some ellipses. For now, though? A nap. And then roller derby practice. Sha-ZAM!!!

Prog Shots: White China

I've had enough of cards for a little while. They're fun and addictive since they're mainly one-shots that I can do at home in the space of about two hours. Digital illustration-type stuff is generally a longer process because I have to go into campus and cram in spare hours in the computer lab whenever I can. This is difficult also because I have to get it done in the daylight hours because the buses run much less frequently after 7:oo. One of these days I'll have to get my own tablet.
Anyway, this one is another personal piece. I wanted to go very light on the color so that the linework has more prominence. Ultimately I want to paint china patterns on some of the cups and saucers, but first I need to wrangle my colors into something prettier. And good golly do I love puffy pants.
